Graduates 2003

Indy

This handsome young pup with the sleepy eyes is Indy. He was picked up by his raiser, Nona Toledo the day before Memorial Day, 2001. He was back in Carson City, NV in time for the Indy 500 race. Already Indy has become a very important pup among the staff at Carson-Tahoe Hospital.

Indy graduated in February 2003 from the Guide Dog campus in San Rafael, CA. He is now a working guide dog for Deborah Buckels in Missoula, Montana.

Lillith

Who says retirement needs to be boring? Donna and Ben Thomas certainly live a very active life - just ask guide dog puppy Lillith. This young pup has become an expert RV traveler. But, don't let her size fool you. Weighing fifty pounds, Lillith is high octane in energy and confidence.

Lillith graduated as a breeder on May 8, 2003.

Hesper

For the fifth summer in a row, the McDowell family will be raising a guide dog puppy. Hesper has already begun going with mom to her classroom at Eagle Valley Middle School. If Hesper sounds like a strange name to you, it does to us, too. The dictionary says the name comes from the word "Hesperidea" a nymph that guarded the golden apples in the myths of ancient Greece. We sure hope this nymph grows up to be a golden guide

Hesper graduated in March 2003. She is now a working guide dog in Denver, Colorado. Katlin and Alvin McDowell are very proud.

Giovanni

On September 9, 2002 our club welcomed Monica Oznowicz and her guide dog puppy 'Giovanni'. Monica just moved from the San Francisco bay area to Lake Tahoe. At the first meeting, Giovanni strutted his stuff and modeled the latest fashion from Guide Dogs - the new puppy jackets.
